Child Safety Standards

HunaUhuna

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. Zero tolerance

HunaUhuna has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This applies to every photo, message, profile and post on the platform, without exception. Anyone found to have uploaded, shared or solicited child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or to have used the app to endanger or exploit a minor, is permanently removed and reported to the appropriate authorities as described below.

2. HunaUhuna is an adults-only app

HunaUhuna is strictly for people 18 and older. Every account provides a real date of birth at sign-up, and the app refuses to create an account for anyone under 18. Age is re-checked mathematically before every date-of-birth entry is accepted — the date picker itself cannot select an under-18 date. Accounts later found to belong to a minor are removed.

3. Every photo is screened before anyone can see it

No photo is ever shown to another person before it has been scanned. This happens automatically, in real time, on upload — not on a review queue after the fact.

4. Reporting to the authorities

Suspected CSAM is a legal reporting obligation under India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 — not a product decision we could choose to skip. Confirmed cases are reported to India's National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and, where applicable, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We cooperate with law enforcement investigating child safety offences connected to the app.

5. Reporting a concern in the app

Every profile and every conversation in HunaUhuna has a visible Report option, reachable in two taps with no need to explain yourself in your own words first — "Underage" is one of the listed reasons, alongside harassment, fake profiles and inappropriate photos. Reporting a profile also lets you block that person in the same step. Reports are reviewed by our safety team; a report naming a child safety concern is treated as the highest priority, ahead of every other report category.

If you believe a HunaUhuna account belongs to a minor, or that you have encountered CSAM anywhere on the app, please use the in-app Report option on that profile or conversation, or contact us directly using the details below — do not screenshot or forward the content itself.

6. AI companions

HunaUhuna's AI companion characters are fictional adults, clearly labelled with an AI badge everywhere they appear. They cannot be directed to roleplay as, or generate content involving, a minor; the same content-safety scanning that applies to user photos applies to what an AI companion can say.

7. Point of contact

The person listed below is able to discuss this app's CSAE prevention practices directly, including with app reviewers and law enforcement.
